Small Miracles (divine intervention for Mausritter)

This presents a simple system for Mausritter to allow mice in dire need to petition their gods for aid.  However, if granted such aid comes at a price, creating opportunities for further troubles and adventures...

My aim with this was to create a system with a very different thematic feel to that of magic use within the game - the effects are more powerful, but can't be relied on, can only be attempted very occasionally and require a recompense to the gods if they are granted.

The system is very 'bare bones' and could be developed in a variety of ways, to suit individual campaigns.  For example:

• Particular miracles may be associated with specific gods or shrines.
• New miracles or obligations can be created.
• The GM may introduce novel ways in which obligations may be discharged.
• Mice who have a particular affinity or devotion to the gods may have a greater chance of invoking a miracle.

With a small amount of adaptation they will also be suitable for games such as Into The Odd and Cairn.
